Adrienne Egbers joined Alex Aiken and Carter (forerunner of KPMG) in 1962 as an articled clerk, during which time she took part in audits large and small, e.g. FSG Mine, Alpha Cement and Dagbreek Corner Store. She wrote the Board exam in 1967, having studied with UNISA for the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (CTA). Adrienne moved to Johannesburg with Aiken’s and after a year joined Boart International until 1988, during which time she was Joint Mnaging Director of a mining equipment manufacturer and supplier. During her 20 years with Boart, she spent some time with Charter Consolidated in London.

Adrienne also worked for close to a year in New Zealand with Hunt Duthie Auditors in Auckland, accompanying her husband who was transferred there for a year. Her husband passed away in 1982. In 1988, she moved from Boart to the CNA group as Financial Director of Constantia Greetings, moving to Head Office of the Group as Company Secretary, Financial Manager and Chair of the Pension, Provident and Medical Aid funds. She then moved to Home Loan Guarantee Company as Financial Manager. She worked in the low income housing environment until she was head hunted to be Chief Operating Officer of the National Housing Finance Company. She retired from that position in 2009.

Adrienne has, for many years been involved in Marist Brothers, first at Sacred Heart College, which her five children attended, and then on the Marist Schools’ Council overseeing five schools in South Africa. She is currently on the Custodians Committee of the Marist Institute in South Africa and is also a member of the International Economics and Accounting Council of Marists that is based in Rome and which oversees the finances of various interests in 80 countries. Adrienne has been a Director of JET Education Services for some years and is Chairperson of the Finance and Audit Committee. She is also a member of the Board of the Catholic Board of Education and Chairs the Audit, Risk and HR Committee.
