Wishing you a joyful holiday period, with some thoughts on the Professionalisation of TVET Lecturers

In 2022, JET turned 30. During this milestone year, we celebrated our refreshed vision and meaningful partnerships dedicated to creating lasting change in education. We thank all who joined us in the celebratory activities, whether in person or online. 
 
We gratefully acknowledge the support of our many long-standing and more recent partners who have contributed to JET’s growth and sustainability over the past 30 years. Your continued and newly initiated support makes the value of our work tangible.  With your support, we will continue to strive for excellence, quality and equity in our education sector.
 
As is the JET custom, we include a reading with this message. Towards the Professionalisation of TVET Lecturers was written by Dr. Jane Hofmeyr and JET researcher  Zaahedah Vally. The paper examines this important topic in a range of countries, including South Africa, and is the third output of a five-year TVET research project commissioned by the Department of Higher Education and Training and the National Skills Authority, and undertaken in partnership with the University of the Western Cape.
