Lesedi Senamele Matlala makes the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans list

Congratulations to one of our very own JETsetters, Lesedi Senamele Matlala on being named one of the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans 2022.

For nearly two decades, the Mail & Guardian has featured 200 Young South Africans on their journey to positively impact the world through future-focused innovation and passion, leaving an indelible mark for the generations to come. The M&G’s flagship feature of eminent young South Africans has become a hallmark on our annual calendar. It is a prestigious initiative that serves to recognise our generation’s future leaders. Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans.

Lesedi is a researcher in JET's Monitoring & Evaluation division and his ambition is to use his M&E work and research to change South Africa’s education system.  

As a JET researcher, Lesedi has authored and contributed to several publications and presents regularly at various conferences and seminars on education and M&E.  He is a valued member of the JET team and an important contributor to staff development at JET.

Outside of JET, Lesedi, is the executive director of Career Avenue and Education 2022, an NGO that creates in-depth career exhibitions for geographically isolated learners.

He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Johannesburg, where his field of research is the impact of new technologies on monitoring and evaluation in the public sector.
