AI era at the Global Forum on Digital Transformation in TVET 2024

The Global Forum on Digital Transformation in TVET 2024 takes place in Shenzhen, China, from 22-23 October 2024

The Global Forum on Digital Transformation in TVET (Shenzhen) 2024 is held from October 22 to 23 at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU), focusing on the theme Transforming TVET for the Age of AI. Co-organised by the UNESCO Chair on Digitalisation in TVET at SZPU, the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for TVET, and the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, the forum has attracted nearly 130 participants from 35 countries, including TVET policymakers, leaders, practitioners, and experts from international organisations, research institutions, and high-tech companies.

James Keevy, CEO of JET Education Services, is attending the Global Forum on Digital Transformation in TVET 2024. James was part of a panel discussion on Identifying and overcoming bottlenecks in implementing digitalisation policies at the Global Forum on Digital Transformation in TVET 2024, in Shenzhen, China. Panel Speakers: James Keevy (JET), Olivier Pieume (UNESCO-UNEVOC) and Tuukka Soini (Omnia), moderated by Ruairi Gough (UNESCO-UNEVOC). The discussion explored practical challenges and strategies for effective governance and policy frameworks, contributing to a deeper understanding of the global landscape of TVET digital transformation.

James also presented on credential fluency in the AI era, unpacking the below questions:

1. Can we design new qualifications before we even know the jobs they will be linked to?
2. Will we need formal qualifications at all in this future?
