Initiatives supported by JET Education Services

JET Education Services has been able to contribute to new thinking and proof of- concept initiatives in many areas and has played a major role in establishing and supporting the following initiatives.

National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT)

JET Education Services was instrumental in establishing the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), which grew out of a response to a call by the then JET CEO for civil society collaboration to accelerate the pace of national development and achievement of the education targets set out in the National Development Plan. The Education Collaboration Framework (ECF) was produced through a consultative process in early 2013 and is the NECT's plan for education reform. The NECT's focus areas include, among others, district-based improvement programmes, systemic interventions, encouraging the development of innovative educational interventions and the Education DialogueSA programme which is designed to engage influential stakeholders in discussions on approaches and issues in education. The NECT is supported by the Department of Basic Education as well as the private sector. JET plays a role as monitoring agent for the District Improvement Programme.

Skills and qualifications of the people in Africa are at the heart of African renaissance. Therefore, the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) is a vital policy of the African Union.
