We are hiring: Receptionist

JET Education Services seeks to appoint a Receptionist. Closing date 07 November 2021.

Location: Johannesburg

The role of the incumbent will be to provide reception, switchboard and office admin support in order to ensure that Jet Education Services is portrayed in an effective, efficient and professional manner. The incumbent will report to the Office Manager

• Formal Education: Matric certificate. A Diploma will be an added advantage
• Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years reception and switchboard experience
• Skills: a friendly and confident personality. The ability to stay calm under pressure. Good interpersonal skills,
a good command of the English language, good spoken and written communication skills, the ability to be
polite but firm when dealing with difficult, impatient or upset people. Good organization and prioritizing
skills, time management skills and E, basic IT skills. Computer literate (Microsoft office)
• Knowledge of: Switchboard operating systems. Knowledge of the education sector a plus,
• Attributes: Professional, Helpful, Accountable, Respectful and possess a friendly disposition, multi-tasking


1. Managing Reception
● Ensure that the reception is well maintained and kept clean at all times
● Greet clients and visitors
● Portray a friendly and helpful attitude at all times
● Ensure minimal traffic at reception at all times and that social distancing protocols are observed
● Notify staff or tenants of visitor’s at reception
● Monitor incoming and outgoing traffic at front reception entrance
● Temperature screening of all JET staff/tenants and visitors
● Record office hours of temporary staff in a register book
● Manage delivery of stock for JET Education Services (office supplies, hygiene consumables)
● Maintains security by following company procedures
● Observe and report any suspicious behaviour or activity

2. Managing Switchboard
● Answer switchboard & incoming calls and take messages for JET staff.
● Route all calls correctly, including for tenants where applicable
● Correctly record and relay messages
● Assist callers with any information pertaining to JET Education Services
● Ensure that the switchboard is in good working order at all times
● Ensure that names on JET switchboard are updated at all times
● Answer visitor enquiries about JET Education Services
● Manage the JET noticeboard on a daily basis
● Help maintain office calendar of important dates e.g. Board & Staff meetings etc

3. Office Admin Support
• Assist with basic day to day office management functions i.e. invoicing, maintaining an optimal office and frontline environment, reporting of any maintenance needs to Office Manager, etc.
● Manage bookings of all public areas (all boardrooms) for tenants and external clients
● Ordering of office stationery, and needs required from OM
● Manage parking for visitors for meetings
● Manage allocation of parking bays for JET employees & tenants
● Procurement of office groceries (online)
● Assist with sourcing quotations from suppliers
● Receiving of posted or courier documents

Salary: R120 000.00 - R136 063.00
