JET commemorates Human Rights Day 2024
Human Rights Day in South Africa is historically linked with 21 March 1960, and the events of Sharpeville.
The JET team creatively commemorated Human Rights Day in a unique and creative way by reflecting on the progress made in the promotion and protection of human rights.
Our symbolic artwork pays tribute to the legacy of the Sharpeville protest against the Pass laws, expressing the power of ordinary people standing together to proclaim their rights. It serves as a powerful reminder of the Bill of Rights preserved in our Constitution which embeds the rights of all people in our country and the affirmation of the democratic values of human dignity, equality and freedom.
