Workforce Readiness and the Future of Work: a new publication

A skilled and adaptable workforce is critical for a country's economic prosperity and development, especially considering technological changes, changes in the nature of work and changes in the labour market.

With a focus on the United States, but with relevance for other countries, a new book, "Workforce Readiness and the Future of Work argues that the large-scale multifaceted efforts required to ensure a reliable and strong supply of talent and skill in the U.S. workforce should be addressed systematically, simultaneously, and systemically across disciplines of thought and levels of analysis".

The book covers four major areas:

education in the K-12, vocational, postsecondary, and STEM arenas;
economic and labor market considerations;
employment, organizations, and the world of work;
laws, policies, and budgets at the federal, state, local, and military levels.

James Keevy, with Volker Rein, Borhene Chakroun and Lori L. Foster contributed the chapter: Credentialing in the 21st Century: Looking Beyond the Event Horizon.
