Partner Profiling: Department of Higher Education and Education
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) was established in 2009 when the former Department of Education was divided into two distinct entities: Basic Education and Higher Education and Training. The DHET's responsibilities encompass skills development, previously managed by the Department of Labour. This Department is focused on post-school education and training in a comprehensive manner and has significantly expanded its activities. The DHET aims to create a connected and coordinated post-school education and training (PSET) system that enhances economic participation and promotes the social development of both youth and adults.
The Department of Higher Education and Training proudly collaborates with the Teacher Internship Collaboration South Africa (TICZA) project, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing teacher training and fostering educational excellence across the nation.
