National Working Committee (NWC)

A National Working Committee, with representatives from each working group, the DHET, and from the National Programme Coordination and Management Body, meets at least bi-annually to coordinate and synthesise the work of the working groups and make recommendations on Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes.

The National Working Committee (NWC) consists of representatives from DHET, which manages the overall project, the seven Working Groups (two members from each group) and representatives from the National Coordination and Management Body (which is currently JET Educational Services). It has the power to co-opt additional expertise when required. It has to meet at least once a year but usually meets more often.

The National Programme Coordination and Management Body, currently JET Education Services, acts as the secretariat for the NWC.
